Miata Mailing List: August 1998, Message #35

My apologies if this is a duplicate - I didn't see my original query 
show-up on the server so I'm sending another...

On my '99 dash top, all the way up against the glass and centered 
left-to-right, is a small square of plastic that appears to be a 
pop-out for some specialized optional equipment.  I was wanting to 
place my prism traffic light viewer in that spot, but I also want to 
avoid screwing myself in case that particular pop-out will become 
useful to me one day.

Anyone know what it's for?  Perhaps it's for a factory-installed 
genuine imitation marble statue of St. Christopher to help those who 
might lose their way?  ;)
