Hi Cathy,
I'm glad you had such a nice time. I agree that the non-event was a lot of fun
and a great gathering of Miatas. The only thing that I disagree with you is in
what cars were leading the pack. Unless I'm totally wrong the bumblebees were
no further forward than 7 thru 12 or so.
Scott's striped white Miata was first followed by a BRG, another color Miata
(I can't recall now) followed and the Blue Bugeyed conversion. There were
other color Miatas back there too but I could not see the yellows until we
finished the ride. I did notice that one of the leading cars ( 5 or 6 in line,
I'm not sure ) kept a very safe distance between the car in front, that is one
reason I could never see the yellows until the end of the ride.
I had a wonderful time following Scott who drove very well and seemed to know
the road like the back of his hand. I was also impressed by his timely road
reports on the CB radio. At one point we came upon a 4 door sedan who
graciously pulled off the road after a mile or two of slowing the group of
Miatas. I would have loved to see the look on the driver and passengers faces
as they watched 100 plus Miatas go by!!
Great event, fine roads, beautiful weather. It was truly a fine experience for
me. I can't believe how well my Miata takes to those roads. It's been years
since I drove there and the last time it was in a Honda Accord! What a
difference!
I think I'll go back again soon and mount my camera better so I can get good
footage. Anyone fron Atlanta or some place nearby wants to join me?
